Although the city brought back memories of her younger life, she tried not to dwell on them. That life was a long time ago, something she left behind for better prospects. She stopped sending her father some of the money she made, or rather stole, unsure if it was still fueling his habit of drinking or if he had cleaned up his act and moved on to get back to work. Either way, Katarina didn’t know what was going on with her father. Not that it mattered. She had many more problems on her mind captaining a crew and running a whole air ship.
While she ship was stopped in a nearby port to refuel and stock up on supplies, Katarina took to the streets of London, looking for something to kill time until the ship was ready, or a drink. A drink. That sounded wonderful at the moment. She had learned over years to find bars and pubs that let her slip inside without the military looking for her. Although she wasn’t sure how much of a ruckus she had caused, she knew the legacy of the Dawn Rose. It seemed that the military wasn’t aware the ownership of the Dawn Rose had changed hands. Despite her role of captain being fairly recent, she knew that the military would find out soon the her old captain was no longer in charge and that they would be looking for a woman soon. Katarina hoped that they only thought it a rumor, allowing her to remain under the radar for who knew how much longer.
She stopped in front of Tower of London, knowing what tortures had been performed there to those who committed crimes against the crown. Her eyes moved from the fortress, trying to not her mind fill with terrible things that could be done to her should she be caught, but it was unclear how she would be treated. Probably like any other sky pirate, she would have been executed. The distinction that she was a woman wouldn’t have made a difference unless she performed acts that weren’t all that well... tasteful. Katarina would rather die than sell herself to save her life. Although, the occasional fling didn’t stop her from having a good time as long as it was mutual.
Her mind wandered at the idea. How long had it been since Katarina indulged in a little fun? Aside from pillaging and robbing other ships. It had been a while, and the last thing she was going to do was do so on her ship with a crew member. The closest her relationships were with crew were friendship, specifically Callum. Ah, although he might have beaten her to the ship first, she was still older and now in charge. Didn’t matter, they were a brother and sister team, constant teasing and picking on each other. Callum was probably the closest thing to family now since she left her father behind for piracy.
With a sigh she moved away from Tower of London, letting her thoughts disperse to find what she was looking for. A drink, possibly. A lover, possibly. Distraction. That was the proper word. A distraction to keep her busy until it was time to take to the skies again. this love is be an end all |

i'll be your everything , Every so often he could find a route of escape. Sebastian had never been one to embark on great or exotic adventures but the young man surely knew how to find a marvelous excuse to get away from the wealthy individuals that he served. No matter how kind and how well off he was with them he still enjoyed being given a good amount of freedom. It seemed that money was the only thing that could get you that… unless you were equipped with great wit or a diehard rebelliousness. Sebastian, having been born into his line of work, was well off with the first of the two. It would sound completely contradictory to call a butler a rebellious human being, would it not? Never in his life had he ever lashed out at anyone above him. In fact, he could not even recall a time that he’d snapped at anyone save for younger children when he had been a child as well. This behavior had probably been what taught him to seize opportunities like this one. He had earned trust and respect by never assuming someone should earn his own respect. You’d have to try devilishly hard to get on bad terms with Sebastian Hensworth.
Several fine garments were draped over Sebastian’s arms when he had first left the home. They were expensive dresses which the lady of the house had decided needed some alterations done on them. Sebastian had managed to talk her into letting him take them to what he claimed was the finest seamstress in all of England. What well-groomed woman would ever deny that opportunity? She was to go with him but brunch had intercepted and Sebastian insisted that he would go and inform the seamstress of what she wanted done to her clothing before he came back to fetch her. It had worked brilliantly and Sebastian did not have to shed one dishonest word. Everything was true and he did as he said by delivering the message and the clothing. The next step was just to get the lady there but nobody had said anyone of a specific time? So Sebastian grabbed at the opportunity and strolled leisurely through the streets with his hands tucked away into his coat pockets.
The clothing he wore hardly ever varied. It was always the same black suite with the black suspenders and white shirt. He shoes, obviously not expensive but well polished, were old with obvious scruffs of discoloration here and there. Sebastian was in no means among the wealthy but he lived an easy enough life, serving under a lord and lady. They treated him well and his room was good enough. He had a roof over his head. An expensive roof, at that.
Sebastian’s medium length brown hair had once been brushed neatly back but now the breeze sweeping through London had it tousled about with strands drifting over his brow from time to time or catching on the scruff of beard that was attempting to sprout from his face (something that would be removed by the evening, surely). It was the bits of his youth that he tried to hang onto since he’d spent the entirety of his life at work rather than play. He was not a bitter type though and handled the cards laid out before him with a wry grin, always. He couldn’t have asked for any other hand.
The dark almost black stare of his eyes glimpsed toward the Tower Bridge, a place that surely should have held more meaning to him. It had been many years ago when a man he should have known had drawn his last breathe on the very place. Sebastian hardly ever thought about it though and even now he easily dismissed the thought with an arched brow carelessly sliding up as he nearly collided with a woman.
“Pardon me,” he breathed. The words came out effortlessly as well as a nod to show he had not missed her presence. Sebastian did not think beyond that though and after the stoic show of halfhearted politeness, he continued onward. Eyes forward this time.

Her senses were on alert, much lower than usual but aware of the people that were strolling past her. Although it was apparent that not everyone else was as alert as she was. The man almost collided with her, but she simply moved around him with a swift movement, like a ballerina. Like a pirate in a fight. His halfhearted excuse didn’t allow her a good look at his face, but since he somewhat approached her first Katarina wasn’t about to let him slip through her fingers. This could be the only fun she might have all day, that is until she ran into Cal again. He was always fun.
“Although you didn’t run into me, I do believe you owe me an apology.” She spoke to his back as he headed on his way watching his gaze focus forward. “And if you can’t do that at least have enough decency to look me in the eye when you ask for a pardon.” She took a seat on a nearby bench, crossing her legs as she let her blue eyes linger on the man as he walked away, determined to make him stay and talk with her. Besides, she needed something entertaining while she waited on her ship to be readied. Titling her head she examined what she could. If he proved interesting enough, maybe, just maybe he could be more than someone for small talk.
Katarina brushed a strand of her blond hair from her shoulders, allowing it to catch the wind. A smile crept to her face now, waiting for him to turn around. “Want to talk about it? I’ve seen that look on a man’s face thousands of times. So, what is it? The job? Friend? Or maybe it’s a woman? Now that would be excellent to hear about.” Ah men and woman. Always trouble. Those enough lucky to make it work were blessed.
This man would be fun for only how long she could keep him engaged, if he decided to give her his attention. From his attire he didn’t seem like much, definitely not armed. Her sword was left safely on the ship, but she kept a knife and gun tucked away just in case she should get herself into trouble. It didn’t happen often but times did call for her to take action. Thankfully most underestimated her. No one expects a woman to defend themselves or be skilled in combat or any kind.
“Come now.” She beckoned the man, “Surely you want something to do other than whatever you have to do. A distraction. Distractions are always enjoyable from time to time.” this love is be an end all |

i'll be your everything , It was more than obvious that the dark eyed Sebastian had not expected any kind of reply. Both of his brows shot up and almost immediately (or as soon as the words had processed fully) Sebastian had come to a stop. He wasn’t about to whirl around completely though and instead regarded her curiously by looking back over his shoulder just as she had sat down. While she spoke he stayed there and watched her. Sebastian only shifted slightly, his eyes venturing away and back toward the path that he had picked out to follow. That path did not have any kind of conversation on it. Or, at least, no conversation had been intended save for with the seamstress he had met up with. But somewhere in his mind Sebastian had already decided that he would amuse this one and play right along with her. Whether she was truly offended by him or not, he wasn’t’ completely sure. He supposed that meant that he was going to have to find out.
The man turned to face her fully then and bowed his head, making no attempt to hide the grin on his face. He kept in check to look sincere about it though. It wasn’t like he had any reason not to be honest with her. “My fullest apologies,” he offered, still keeping his head bowed and causing several stands of his hair to drift out from behind his ears. His eyes drifted back up to her when she continued speaking and he scrunched his nose curiously at her. He had not expected her to continue talking to him. But, then again, Sebastian had not expected her to say anything at all to him. He had thought she would just nod back and continue on her way. There was hardly anything significant about him but it was obvious that she did want his attention.
Sebastian furrowed his brow at her and carefully considered each of the questions. Really, he wasn’t having any problems at all and was just enjoying his not so hurried walk back to the people he worked for. It was a well deserved break from reality, if you had asked him! Emphasis on the well deserved bit of it, too.
Before he could even put together a well thought-out answer she had given him one. A distraction would be a perfect thing to describe what he was doing right at this moment! He was distracting himself. Perhaps she was only pulling him into conversation for her own distraction. Sebastian shrugged the thought away though and busied himself instead with taking a few steps over toward her, his dark eyes curiously peering down at her blue ones. Again he offered her a grin.
“Yes, a distraction,” he confirmed to her. “I am curious about that look though. The look you said you saw on my face. Of those problems you’ve listed, what one do you suppose I’m most likely suffering from?”
Sebastian had never seen this woman before. That was no surprise as he did live in the bustling city of London and there were always new and exotic people or things about. This woman had an interesting allure to her. He could not deny that he had almost missed her completely but now that she had his attention… she really had his attention. The way she presented herself seemed very strong and confident, something that was sometimes rare in a woman unless she had a considerable sum of wealth and influences to back her up. Perhaps she did have those things, but Sebastian wouldn’t know that. No, he would have to carefully have to find out for himself though.

No man would simply turn around and walk away from a woman with demands, it was rude and unheard of. Patiently she sat on the bench watching the young man with her careful blue eyes to see what he would do next. Well, her words had certainly stopped him but what would he do next? Staying on him she watched as the man turned to bow in her direction with an apology. A smirk of triumph was quickly painted on her lips while she watched his dark hair fall loose. “Well, it’s comforting to know that respect hasn’t gone anywhere these days.”
Her eyes met another feature, dark brown eyes. They stayed on him as he moved towards he, the grin not once leaving his face. Lovely. He was looking for a distraction as well. Now her little trip wasn’t going to be so boring after all. Her brows lifted, almost as if his question were a challenge only to be replaced by a smile. “What are you suffering from?” She questioned more to herself than him as she stood from the bench.
First Katarina allowed her gaze to do some work. Moving over his handsome features. Dark hair and eyes with gorgeous olive skin. Then they moved to his clothes, taking in each article. Her mind began to form a story. From years of working around men and being around them she had seen many faces and expressions. Many didn’t talk about it, but since she was captain they were allowed to bring their grievances to her in private should they wish to get certain ideas and memories off their chest. It gave the men a chance to speak their mind and come to terms with loses that might otherwise cripple their judgement and work on ship. They were all private and the conversation was never discussed beyond the door of her quarters.
“Let me see,” Katarina began as she slowly started to circle his figure, noticing that he was a few inches taller than her, “It’s not your job. Your clothes suggest you have a steady job, nothing fancy or terrible, but secure. I highly doubt it’s a woman. You’re far too handsome to not be involved with a woman. And if not then why are you hiding? That would mean a friend. Close or distant is unclear though, however they are no longer with you.” She moved around him, her long emerald green dress grazing the ground as she came back to his front. Dresses weren’t her favorite, but they helped give her a good disguise when in town. She looked less like a pirate and more like a wealthy woman. It was rare that her crew saw her in such attire.
“How did I do?” Katarina asked with a smirk. “Would you like to give me a try? I warn you though, I might be tricky.” this love is be an end all |

i'll be your everything , He took a few steps her way, but stopped short when she got up from her spot and came toward him. Sebastian straightened his back but still kept a casual stance while he watched the blonde. A smile came to his face again and he met her gaze, curiously anticipating her guess. Personally, he wasn't aware of anything that was wrong with him. At least, Sebastian wasn't aware of anything that was wrong with him right at this moment. His mind was mostly clear and he wasn't concerned with the future or past. He was fully living in the moment. Still, he was curious about what this woman had to say about him. She had yet to know about his love of trying to throw people off balance with his false reactions or completely sincere ones. Had he been born a wealthy young man then perhaps he would have pursued the arts and taken on theater. Had he been born in a worse situation then maybe a con artist. He supposed a butler would have to do.
A thoughtful look crossed Sebastian's features as she went over what she believed him to be. Even if they were vague assumptions she had done well enough for literally knowing nothing about him, he'd give her that. However, from his own self assessment, Sebastian only felt that she was on target with one of her guesses while they other two were far from the truth (or far from his mind). But he simply continued smiling down at her, looking impressed and pretending for the moment that she had nailed it. Eventually he shook his head at her though.
"My work keeps me out of poverty," he mused with a shrug. "And no woman is troubling me but neither is a friend. Perhaps you had just caught me in thought. A thoughtful look."
She wanted him to give it a try on her now? Sebastian could not even make a confident guess on who she was after having been talking with her for a few moments! There was honestly no way that he could correctly guess who this mysterious blonde was. For all he knew she could have been a famous woman, daughter of a wealthy duke. Or, on the flip side, those fancy clothes she was adorned with could have been stolen from a duke's daughter. The possibilities were certainly endless and having come from both sides of those spectrums Sebastian knew not to underestimate someone.
Sebastian started with a sigh. The butler pulled his hands from his coat pockets to cross his arms across his chest, his fingers reaching up to his chin to tap thoughtfully. He then gave the woman a defeated glance and shrugged his shoulders at her.
"I can't say I've got any idea of who you could possibly be," he admitted to her, sounding fully sincere. "However, I do have a feeling that I may know why you are out here. Perhaps I'm not the only person leisurely avoiding my duties somewhere else? I purposely wasn't looking for any excuse to be distracted from my course though. And why would someone else be, dare I ask?"

She was going on what knowledge she had from being around her crew. For all she knew he could have just been lost in deep thought like most men seem to be, but even then that deep thought had a subject or sorts. There was always a source. Her blue gaze watched his shoulders shrug before his response was given. So, he wasn’t willing to give up his source, but it was obvious he was in thought. That she knew for herself. Katarina would have to pry a little more maybe to find the source, or better yet to get what she truly wanted from him. “Well, it was worth a shot. Besides, sometimes those with thoughts on their mind occasionally need someone to talk to that doesn’t know them. Makes quite a difference. But, it’s your choice to tell me or not. Maybe next time.”
Taking a step back she allowed the young man to observe her, but it seemed like he wasn’t as skilled in interpreting thoughts like she was. Katarina was hoping he would give it more of a try though. It seemed he took one glance at her and simply gave up. She sighed in disappointment, but it was only short lived thankfully. He was quick to speak again, regaining her interest. “Well, when you don’t know anything about a person that’s when you start asking questions about them to find out who they are. ”
“Hmm. Leisurely avoiding my duties? Well, my duties won’t need to be done until the duties of others are completely first. Currently I’m waiting on them to finish up before I can get to mine. So technically, I’m not avoiding my duties.” She mused with a smile, “However,” she spoke again, “I am looking for something just as you said.” Taking a moment Katarina paused, letting her eyes move over the young man before taking a step forward. She closed the distance between them, dropping her voice so the conversation would drift beyond the boundaries of the two of them. “What I need is a distraction. Although you have provided that for me today, what I want is a distraction beyond a few minutes, hours even. I want it to last days, maybe even weeks.”
Slowly Katarina lifted a hand, letting her fingers trace the lapels in his jacket. Her blue eyes lifted to meet his dark ones. “I do hope that what I’m trying to communicate is clear, and if not I can verify for you if needed. But, if you do know what kind of distraction I’m looking for then I do hope you’ll help me in getting it accomplished, otherwise I’m going to be truly disappointed.”
A laugh suddenly left her lips. “I’m sorry. Please forgive me if I seem a little too... forward. I suppose I should introduce myself before I ask such absurd things of you. My name is Katarina. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Taking a step back the young woman offered her hand to the man. this love is be an end all |

i'll be your everything , She was a curious thing, this woman. But Sebastian supposed that most women were enigmas wrapped entirely in more enigmas. It was in their nature to be baffling to a man. Usually though Sebastian could get himself through conversations with ease and without much thought. He had always been known by those he knew for his quick reactions and confidence in himself. In this situation Sebastian found himself double checking his words before he let them lose though. This particular woman seemed like she required all caution and Sebastian couldn’t help but feel that if he was not careful she would be several steps ahead of him. Perhaps he was just over thinking it but he could not deny that he usually did not get these sorts of feelings unless confronted with someone who was more obviously dangerous to him. Was there more to her than met the eye? Surely there was and he would not underestimate her. No, he wouldn’t do that, not for a minute. It was strange but Sebastian found himself openly on his guard with her. Despite appearing casual he made no attempts at hiding his suspicious glances down into those mysterious, bright blue eyes. They were lovely and surely conniving blue eyes. This one was not to be taken lightly.
A distraction… that much Sebastian had gotten right but she had laid it out before him quite plainly. Even so, he quirked a curious brow at her as though coming to the revelation for a first time again. What could this curious woman want from him? Honestly, Sebastian could not begin to guess her true intentions and suddenly had the feeling that he might have stepped right into a very ominous situation. For all he knew this woman had several people with her and all of them had some kind of weapon pointed right his way. Or- and he did not doubt- she would just take what she wanted from him all by herself.
He was about to give her a quick explanation that he had nothing of any value on him and that he’d be nothing but a waste of time. There was no use in getting into this kind of trouble, especially since he was not armed. Sebastian wasn’t a coward but he also wasn’t a fool. If he knew the odds were against him then he wasn’t going to blindly try to prove anyone wrong. Thankfully she made her intentions completely clear to him before he could say a word. Now he only looked even further confuse.
It wasn’t as though Sebastian lacked experience with women. He could talk to them and go further than just words but it usually wasn’t something that was requested of him on the streets. Sometimes he knew the women and other times he did not know them very well. But complete strangers? No, not even that! She was not only a complete stranger but also very likely a very dangerous stranger. Who knew how time with this woman could end? Perhaps she’d have her way and have him killed. Or perhaps he would have his… Sebastian shook the thoughts away from him and swallowed the lump in his throat.
Finally he regained his thoughts and composure.
“Your offer may be tempting,” Sebastian started, with complete control over his voice making it sound smooth and even. It was as though all concerns had flown from him. He could act. He was good at betraying his true feelings. “However, as you suggested, I may very well be involved with another woman. And, if that is the case, I could not stray or endure losing her trust.”
It would have been flattering despite how forward it was if it had not also seemed somewhat desperate. Sebastian could have been a last resort and he couldn’t help but wonder what the rush was. And, even more curious, what exactly would she want with any kind of fling? Just a few moments and she’d move to the next man? Sebastian didn’t honestly care too much, it was just curious since she didn’t appear to be… desperate. Perhaps she just enjoyed a challenge. Or perhaps she was horribly lonely, no one could tell. Not Sebastian, at least.
“Katarina,” he repeated, keeping his dark eyes narrowed carefully on her. “Pleasure. You can call me Sebastian.” He took her hand. He did not let go of it though and cocked his head. “Katarina does not appear to be the kind of person who would be short on the kind of distraction she currently requires. How am I to know she does not have any intentions of, perhaps, mugging me?”

He was quite a challenge so far, but she wasn’t one to give up so easily. His dark eyes held suspicion. She could easily see it. It was a common look when her captives were curious as to what she had planned for them. Katarina had learned to become an excellent reader of facial expressions. Her knowledge often kept her alive when out in the skies and on the ground. This young man wasn’t any different. Although the hostage situation might not have been severe as others, she was still keeping him captive with her words. That for now was enough but she made clear what she wanted from this young man, and if he wouldn’t give it to her, she might have to go looking elsewhere. Or maybe try harder with him. Katarina didn’t feel like looking when she found a candidate.
Her azul eyes continued to examine his features, her mind starting to create images to have them interrupted by his voice. Carefully she watched him, like a predator stalking its prey. This man involved with a woman? Katarina highly doubted that. A smile crept to her lips, another laugh slipping between them. “Good sir, I don’t believe that you are in any way shape or form associated with a woman at this time. There is no ring on your finger and for some reason, I believe that if a man like you were to be involved with a woman, it wouldn’t last very long. Also, you wouldn’t have allowed me so close. Such actions would repulse a man committed to a woman. To be led astray from the one they love is a sin, something that doesn’t sit well with others.”
As he spoke her name a delicious chill ran up her spine. Hardly anyone called her by her name. Most of the time it was Captain, unless one has special permission to use her name. Usually it was just Cal who has permission. But she wondered what it would have been like for this man... Sebastian to say her name within the darkness of a room. The two of them lost in kisses and touches that would even make Aphrodite jealous. Yes, time with Sebastian would be lovely if he were willing to give her his time. “Please. The pleasure is all mine, Sebastian.” Her gaze dropped to watch him take her hand, no kiss coming but the touch was enough.
His hand was warm as it took hers, the warmth spreading to her skin. So long it had been since such a simple act gave Katarina pleasure. For a moment she waited for him to release her hand, but he didn’t do so. Her gaze lifted to see his cocked head, knowing that Sebastian’s suspicion was still very much there. Cat and mouse. That’s all this was to Katarina. “You would be surprised how often I need a distraction. What I do demands focus and determination, but that I’m sure you’ve already guessed for yourself.”
Again a laugh left her lips as his question. “Mug you? Oh, Sebastian. I don’t want to mug you. One, I’m alone. I assure you that. Two, I wouldn’t do it in such a public place. Besides, I don’t want your money or any of you valuable trinkets. I have enough of that to last me a lifetime, maybe more. What I want, you must choose to give me of your free will. If not, then I’ll have to try harder in convincing you. Not to mention I don’t want to cause any damage to the face of yours. Hurting such a thing would be a crime in itself.”
Katarina took a small step forward, closing the distance between them again be letting her hand still linger in his. Her voice again dropped to a whisper, “Don’t tell me you haven’t felt... certain cravings, or the need for a distraction? To deny such feelings is to deny who were are, our human instinct. Come on, Sebastian. It can be our secret. I promise not to tell anyone.” this love is be an end all |

i'll be your everything , Sebastian wasn’t sure whether he should take offense to her reply or not. Did he look like he would be a promiscuous type? Truthfully he had never set his full, undivided feelings on one woman but it was hardly because he was an unfaithful sort of man. It was more because of circumstance. Usually the women who sought him out were not interested in marrying him and very often he had no interest in ever courting any of the women he had been with. Besides, Sebastian was only human. It was natural to have such desires and he had decided not to torment himself by being a hermit. Living the life of the straight and narrow was far too plain when you were nothing but a steward to someone. There were no exotic adventures, just a few duties beyond the doorstep of his home. Sebastian’s heart was not content with what he had so he could not help but explore the only thing he ever had the opportunity of exploring. Some may have frowned upon it but he was sure that was only for appearances. Everyone wanted to have some adventure some of the time and that could include adventures that could be taken right to their very bedrooms.
Maybe being human was just a convenient truth for his exploits. In his defense, he had very few. After all, Sebastian wasn’t one to indulge in such things unless he had some true interest in the person. Even if it was but a brief moment, it was better than bedding a complete idiot or pig.
Katarina did not seem to be either of those things though, so why the hesitance? The hints of danger only made the challenge that much more appealing. Sebastian was not usually one to turn away a challenge, but that was usually only when he could find a way out for himself. Would there be a way out if he needed one? That was the one thing that he needed to find out. He also, strangely enough, found himself somewhat appalled at the idea of simply giving into those very human desires with this woman. It was as though something in him was promptly suggesting that he took a little longer to see what she was all about. His conscience was winning this battle and he was not finding himself so willing to give into her suggestions.
“I only said I may have been involved with a woman,” he quickly put in. “I never said that I was in love with a woman.” A wry grin appeared on his face with that point made. Sebastian had never been much of a fool for that silly mental illness known fondly as love. Having one’s head in the clouds could prove to be a hindrance on any man. He honestly wasn’t sure why some people blindly went along with such thoughtless feelings. Love was simply a word to make up for mankind’s desire to mate and procreate, nothing more than that.
Sebastian gave the woman another smirk. “Then I would one dissuade a Miss Katarina?” he asked her simply. “Would assuring you that there are plenty of lovely faces in London point your interest elsewhere? I assure you that just because I can keep myself well groomed does not mean I’ll be worth such a lady’s time.”
He really wasn’t trying to push her away from him. He was only trying to get answers from her and maybe was playing it out so that he could puff his chest with a little pride later on. Sebastian was not used to being any kind of prize (and he surely did not want to be seen as such in the future), as he was far from being some wealthy lord. He also lacked the hues of blue and green in his eyes that women would so fondly speak of when they were falling into the trap called love. Among other things… Sebastian had a stubborn streak. He’d talk himself out of anything when it was completely necessary. However, he could do it with false and completely believable sincerity. Some people grew impatient with him. He hardly cared. Another reason he wasn’t used to someone pressing him, he supposed.
“How are you so certain I am a wise choice?” he questioned, his voice dropping as well. “You only know that I am Sebastian. You only know that I have a steady employer. But I could very possibly also be a very good liar.”

Some knew how to act on instincts and recognized what was in front of them. Katarina was patient, biding her time until Sebastian agreed to join her little escape or would avoid her. Either way, she was too involved not and wasn’t going to go down without a fight. So far Sebastian had proved to be worth her time and interest. Originally she could have let him walk on by and gone about her day like it was nothing, but her search for adventure led her to this predicament. Trying to seduce a man for not only her pleasure but possible his. Katarina would make sure that it was mutual, not wanting to force anything from Sebastian. The challenge was enjoyable, but only so long was she willing to fight for something before growing frustrated and bored.
Katarina wondered what could be keeping Sebastian from agreeing to spending some quality time with her. She didn’t want to hurt him, on the contrary. She wanted to perform acts that would only elate and benefit the both of them. Her thoughts were interrupted by his speech of love however. Soft laughter filled the small space between them, again the smile coming to her face. “Touche.”
Her eyes dropped, seeing that Sebastian hadn’t released her hand yet. She didn’t mind, but wondered why he was hesitant to release her. Katarina relished in the warmth of his hand, something she wouldn’t ever be able to share with her crew. His hands were soft unlike the ones calloused from years of hard work in the air and possibly in the sea. Katarina enjoyed variety when it came to men, but she wasn’t about to sleep with someone that worked in the sky, especially those involved on her ship. It was forbidden, and such a relationship would hamper her skills and senses when working. Something outside her work allowed her to stay focused when she went to the skies. She had yet to meet someone to sweep her off her feet onto that elusive emotion called love. Katarina was sure that it would never find her.
“You want to dissuade me?” She asked, brows lifting at the challenge. “Unfortunately your assurances don’t matter. Although there are several lovely faces in London, the real question is if they are fitting inside my tastes. Some are handsome no doubt, but what one may like may not suite me. So, try to point my interest elsewhere if you want, Sebastian, but I have found what suites me. And once I’ve found what I want, I don’t let it go so easily. But it seems that’s not my problem since you haven’t released my hand. Enjoying it?” She teased in a whisper, motioning to their still linked hands.
Again she took another small step forward, so close their bodies were almost touching. Katarina could feel the warmth between them, again causing the desire to rise inside. Her eyes examined him, reading his face and expressions, trying to read his mind. No such ability existed, but she wondered what she would have found if she were to get inside his head.
He stated the obvious while she observed him, knowing that all these were true. “Sebastian.” She spoke his name in a whisper, “I could have let you go on your way, acting as if you never walked past me or almost collided with me. But I didn’t. Do you know why? Because I felt that you were different. Well, that and I didn’t feel like looking anymore, so when something stumbles in my path during my course of action I take it as a sign.”
Taking a moment she paused, examining him and thinking about his statement of him being a liar. Again she felt the challenge take a new level. “A liar.” She took a moment to taste the words, letting them slip into the air between them. Katarina only smiled. “You call yourself a liar? Well, it doesn’t scare me, in fact, it only adds to the excitement. Wanting to find the truth and know who you truly are, but then again we hardly know anything about each other. For all you know I could be the one lying. I assure you this though, everything I have said is true, but if you want to know more all you have to do is ask.” this love is be an end all |

i'll be your everything , It was all so much at once! Sebastian couldn’t help but let a smirk light up his features when she pointed out that he still obviously held her hand in his own. He couldn’t say he was enjoying it so much as having accidentally letting it slip his mind. Subconsciously, he supposed, he had done it to keep her anchored there in that spot. Maybe he had a fleeting moment of fear that she would decide to turn away from him or perhaps use those slim hands of hers to take something from his pockets. Whatever the case was, Sebastian just kept on the half grin and shrugged his shoulders at her. What more could he say?
Again, Sebastian found himself shrugging his shoulders but more to himself after a quick thought than to Katarina. Sebastian gave a slight bow again, bringing his head low and her hand up. He then placed a soft kiss over the top of her knuckles before slowly letting her hand drop and then pulling his own away. As he straightened up each of his eyebrows angled upward at her. “I was only hoping to be polite, Katarina,” he explained to her, though made full attempt not to cover the fact that it was a simple lie. Both of his hands retreated back to his coat pockets then.
The cogs in the back of his mind had started on another clue that she had given to him, whether it was purposely or not (she already knew the trick; she had pointed it out earlier to him). He could feel that her hands were no strangers to hard work. Even if they were still the slender and narrow hands of a woman he could feel on her palms the hard spots where they were calloused. This could lead Sebastian in so many directions though and she could still honestly be considered one of the wealthier classes or not. She could have been a very wealthy woman, grown up from wealthy stock and just happened to like doing things outdoors or considered work. Then again, she could have very well been someone who wasn’t such and just happened to have opportunities to get her hands onto things like the dress she wore. She had also hinted at having money and other valuable things that could last her a lifetime. She was narrowing his search but Sebastian wasn’t quite ready to come to any conclusions yet. There were so many things that could befall a person in life that assuming you could guess anyone’s past or present was completely stupid. Guessing their futures wasn’t really advised much by him either.
So who was Katarina then? Perhaps she would not be cloaked in mystery too much longer. But he could only guess.
Another smirk showed on his face. “Ah, but I doubt that you truly want to know who I am,” he told her matter-of-factly. “And not because I think you are shallow or that the chance that I may be a horrible person could be true… but simply because you haven’t the slightest problem plucking a stranger from the streets. So surely there is only one thing that truly intrigues you and I doubt that it is the mystery of who Sebastian really is.”
With those words spoken, Sebastian let his grin widen fully and he took a step forward but only to carefully navigate around her. He let their bodies brush closely though, letting her know that maybe he was still interested in her chase but that he also was finished with standing in one spot. Or maybe he had just decided that this was a bad place to speak, among other things.

In fact, she quite enjoyed it. His hands were soft in comparison to her, and she wondered what they would feel like against other parts of her skin. That was a thought for later however. She wasn’t about to get lost in her fantasies when she didn’t even have the guy agreeing to what she wanted yet. patience. Katarina had to be patient just a little bit longer. She hoped that Sebastian would bite. There was only so much time she was going to spend in London before she had to take the skies again. She wanted to make these few days count.
Her gaze dropped to their two hands, watching as it slowly lifted. It was like the action was happening in slow motion. With her hand still in his it was brought to Sebastian’s lips before the gentle kiss grazed her skin. In the time it took for her hand to reach those lovely lips the moment was suddenly over and her hand was lowered to be released from him. But in that moment she felt another shiver run up her spine. Such warmth his lips held like his hands. Again the action played over and over again in her mind as her skin tingled with shivers and body flushed with heat. Katarina was so tempted to close her eyes as she relished the moment but it would raise eyebrows on Sebastian at such an action. She managed to keep her composure. “Believe me, you’re more than polite Sebastian. You are a complete gentleman.”
That smirk came back to his face. Katarina was starting to recognize it, and it was starting to grow on her now. It could mean so many things, and she didn’t know what it meant now. He could have been happy, or teasing her. She liked not knowing what he was thinking. It would keep things interesting.
Sebastian moved around her, feeling their bodies brush if only for a moment. Katarina felt herself swoon briefly, an electric shock filling her entire body. It took her breath away honestly, and she was jealous that Sebastian was teasing her. Her emotions took over her, and quickly spinning she turned and took him by the lapel, pulling him close. Now there bodies were touching, and Katarina could feel her body flushing with heat suddenly realizing that she lost control for a brief moment. Keeping her composure she loosened her grip on his jacket, but kept him close. “Oh you couldn’t be more wrong, Sebastian.”
She rose on her toes slightly as she attempted to be more level with him. Blue eyes met his dark ones as she dropped back into her whisper, but this time much more seductive. “See, I do want to know who you are... quite intimately really, if you understand my motive. And although I’m flattered you don’t find me shallow, but I’m quite sure you know what I want from you. Rest assured I do want to know who you are, and if you’re willing you can get to know who I am as well.” Her hand moved from the lapel of his jacket, tracing upwards until her finger grazed along his neck and jawline. “If you would like to discuss this elsewhere, I can think of some more... secluded areas that will allow us some privacy.” this love is be an end all |

i'll be your everything , He could turn the tides. In that moment he could see it clearly. Sebastian doubted that she had planned it to go like this. Surely a woman such as this had confidence in herself and prowess over males. She had every right to think like that, after all. She was beautiful and had this lovely gift of charm. But Sebastian was not blind and often counted on the reactions of those around him to determine his own actions and outward feelings. When she had taken a hold on his coat to bring him back to her, Sebastian knew then that he could just easily play her game right back at her. If she had ever suspected Sebastian to be an easy win then she had surely thought wrong, though he was surely flattered at her continued attempts. Then again, Sebastian kept in mind that those who took bold steps without caution often were the ones to meet an untimely doom. For some reason he couldn’t get his head wrapped around the concern too much though. He felt no impending doom, however. Maybe he would trust his gut. Maybe he would change this mysterious Katarina with her calloused hands and smooth words. Maybe he would because he knew now he could have his head in this game.
Sebastian turned more fully when she loosed her hold on his coat. He turned so that he could face her, despite the way the fabric wrapped around his middle awkwardly. When he was still he let his eyes follow hers as she rose on her toes to meet with his height. Sebastian decided to hide his smirk from her at that one and simply continued to stare at her with all seriousness. He took in her words and offered her a mindful stare. The pair of dark brown eyes continued to look down at her but it seemed as though he were staring right through her for the moment.
There were other things that Sebastian needed to consider in this situation. For starters, he wasn’t exactly supposed to be out and enjoying his own pleasures. At this moment he should have been reaching the doors of his overseer’s room and readying a carriage for his wife so that she could go be fitted properly into her dressed. His absence would be noted as he usually was not absent. Sebastian was a fine wordsmith though. He could forge a story on the spot if he had to without so much as breaking a guilty sweat over it. He had never been one to fret, he merely did what was needed of him to survive in this world with whatever comforts he could afford to have.
So what would it be on this day for Sebastian? Would he follow this curious woman or remain loyal to his duties?
“And what exactly would you suggest to me?” he asked whilst lifting his chin away from her reach. His eyes stayed lowered toward her, filled with curiosity as well as an obvious alertness now that he was broken from his thoughts. “I’m sure you don’t have a warm bed awaiting me in any of the homes on these streets. Though I doubt it would be wise to go somewhere familiar to either of us, lest your answer is true and you truly do want to know Sebastian.” He honestly wasn’t sure how much he wanted to know Katarina. Intrigued as he was, he doubted he would want anyone like this stranger knowing where he was throughout the day and he would not expect any less of her if she requested otherwise. He supposed that was her call though.
Sebastian then raised both of his brows and quickly brought his hand up so that his fingers could press against the bottom of her chin. He smiled. “You may only know Sebastian for this day.”

Usually she was level headed in her approaches, keeping the timing right and springing when necessary. For that brief moment she lost control and let her emotions take over. It was a split sign of weakness that she didn’t wish to reveal, but it was shown and she was positive that Sebastian had seen it. Now that Katarina had exposed herself she would have to work extra hard to be kept on her toes. Again the guard was in place, pretending as if she never even took him by the coat to swing him back around.
She shook her head, tossing aside a few strands of blond hair before meeting those dark eyes again. Katarina reminded herself to be patient. The time would come when Sebastian would make a decision. The question of her suggestion only made the smile return to her lips, coyly playing it across her features. For a second time her head shook but for disappointment. “Once again you underestimate me, Sebastian.” Watching as he pulled away from her touch. So, that was the game he wanted to play? Fine. Two could play that game.
Over her years of being a pirate she took it upon herself to purchase a home within London. It was more of a large apartment really, but it was a place nonetheless that allowed Katarina escape from the ship when needed and a place for her to indulge in desires that no one would know about. An additional plus were the numerous safes she kept hidden around the home. Her treasure from taking to the skies had to be put somewhere, and she wasn’t about to head into a bank without an explanation as to where she received such gifts and vast amounts of money. A safe place for her money, a seclusion for desires, and safe house should her ship ever be taken. Katarina would need a place to go to hide along with whatever crew survived. “You see,” she began, “I just so happen to have a home of my own waiting in London with a warm bed. And if you don’t believe me I can show you myself first hand.”
Suddenly the warmth had returned. Sebastian’s hand swiftly came to press against the bottom of her chin, spreading warmth throughout. His words however stung her slightly. For a moment Katarina let a frown come to her face, making sure it was only temporary before she spoke again. “But what if I don’t want to know you for just this day?” She had to rise on her toes again and pushed his hand away from her face despite enjoying the warmth it gave her. Even then she was still shy of his ear as she whispered, “I can’t learn very much about someone in a day. Besides, what I want requires more than just a day. A day is like the tip of the ice berg. I would need more than a day.”
Her lips were murmuring softly, so close to his ear she was almost brushing his skin. Katarina’s desire to whisper brought their bodies close as well, lightly touching as another jolt of electricity shot down her spine. “I don’t know how long I would need though. Two? Three? Maybe a week? Perhaps a month? It all depends on what you’re willing to give me, Sebastian. And if not, then I might have to coax it out of you.” She pulled away from his form, lowering down until she stood below him. “As I said before, we can talk in a more private place if you’d like. I’m sure our conversation would not be approved for the public to hear.” this love is be an end all |
